Pouches

A pouch is the most common form of flexible packaging. It is made out of a variety of material structures and replaces the traditional need for cans or tins, boxes, cartons and jars. Pouches can be segmented into two key groups, those that have a base and stand up, known as stand-up pouches and those that don’t, known as flat Pouches.

Stand-Up Pouches

Stand-up Pouches are one of the more common flexible packaging solutions chosen by manufacturers. Not only is the structure strong and stable enough that is can stand up on the shelf, it also gets noticed on the shelf, with front, back and side panels available for displaying your brand messaging. The key is the gusset design at the base or on the side of the package. The gusset allows your package to expand when filled and provides the stability and flexibility needed to support the Pouch and the goods inside, so that the product can “stand up” on the shelf. While there are many different styles and sizes of Stand-Up Pouches available, there are 4 that are used widely across the food and pet food industries for both wet and dry products.

Flat Pouches - 3 Side Seal

The Flat Pouch is one of the most simple, inexpensive and popular Pouches available. They offer lots of flexibility to our clients with a wide range of materials, sizes, seals and shapes available. The Flat pouches have no gussets or folds and the 3 sides are sealed. With additional features like vacuum and retort applications, there is no limit to what these pouches can do for you!

Flat Pouches - Pillow (Back or T Seal)

Shaped like a pillow, it is sealed at the bottom, top and back. It is produced using only one sheet of film and has the distinguishable back seal that extends to the length of the pouch, which is why it is also known as the “Back or T-Seal Pouch”. With the ability to “wrap” your design around the Pillow shape, this is a perfect choice for those looking for an economical manual filling solution.

Box or Flat Bottom Pouch

The box pouch, also known as the Flat bottom Pouch, replaces the traditional carton box and with a number of material structure options available, provides a longer shelf life and the convenience of resealability that a carton box cannot. The Box Pouch, stands up on the shelf and provides 4 vertical structure panels (2 side gusset panels, a front panel and a back panel). The side gussets expand to hold volume, making it ideally suited to high density products.

Quad Seal Pouch

As the name suggests, the Quad Seal Pouch has four sides that are sealed and side gussets for expansion. The sealed sides make this pouch incredibly strong and durable and ideal to support heavier volume products. The weight of the product gives the pouch its shape and allows it to stand and stack easily in cubic dimension cartons.

Side Gusset Pouch

The 3 Side Seal, also referred to as a bag, is probably more commonly known as the Coffee or Tea Pouch. The bottom of a side gusset bag is sealed using heat-seal technique, with the top of the pouch kept open for filling of the product. The base sits flat on the shelf surface when filled with the weight of the product. The side gussets give the pouch capacity to expand. Leverage the front and back vertical panels to brand your product and get it noticed on the shelf!
