Packaging Industry Requirements

Packaging requirements of large supermarket chains or outlets can be detailed and overwhelming at times, particularly with their changing requirements under the Australian Packaging Covenant and their individual Action Plans. That’s why, as part of your supply chain and a Brand Member of the Australian Packaging Covenant, we take the time to understand the packaging general requirements, so that we can help you deliver a quality product that they would be proud to have one their shelves. We guarantee the delivery of the following requirements in the production of all our packaging:

Inks

All inks used are non-toxic and approved for use with food packaging. They are resistant to scuffing and product smudging or abrasion, so your product branding will be maintained.

Barcoding and QR Codes

We provide readable GS1 (formerly EAN Australia) grade and magnification (www.gs1au.org), barcoding and QR code printing on all our products as required.

Food Safety Legislation

All materials comply with local national food contact legislation.

Factory

All packaging is produced in a clean environment and stored in clean, dry area that is free from contamination and protected from light.

Favourite Packaging provides flexible packaging solutions that protect your products from;

    1. Damage, contamination, air, moisture and toxins –  choosing an inexperienced food packaging provider can lead to some significant costs and learnings! The wrong packaging can not only “spoil” your product, making it unsellable in accordance with the Food Packaging guidelines, but also affect your business financially!
    2. Spilling or leaking –  the wrong packaging solution can cause spilling or leakage, particularly in transport and during storage. This can lead to additional costs to replace, clean up and unfortunately, damage to your business reputation.
    3. Transport and storage – Sturdy, secure packaging is necessary to prevent products from breaking or being damaged during shipping or display on a shelf. This will also help prevent costly returns and increase the perception of quality in your customers’ eyes!

Warehousing

Even though packaging is an essential part of our business and supply chain, we also know that while you may want to take advantage of larger volume orders, you may not have the capacity to store the volume.

We offer all our clients the opportunity to store or warehouse their larger volume packaging orders in our custom build facility with both short and long term pallet storage options. This gives our clients;

  • Packaging that is stored in a safe and secure facility
  • Access to volume discounts
  • Available Stock on demand – ability to scale up quickly and when and if required
